Uploading Products
Add merchandise to your store from Vwaza Studio. This page covers what you need, what is optional, and the small details that make your listings convert.
Where to start
Sign in to studio.vwaza.com, open the Merchandise section, and click New product. You must be KYC-approved before your products can be made visible on the public store.
Required fields
Every product must have
- Name. The title fans see on the store.
- Description. Short, clear, and honest. Mention the material, fit, or print method if relevant.
- Base price in USD. This is the price that gets converted into the buyer's local currency at checkout.
- Category. Pick the closest match (Apparel, Accessories, Music & Media, Digital Downloads, or Collectibles).
- At least one image. Square images render best.
Why USD?
Optional fields
Useful extras
- Inventory tracking. Switch on if you want Vwaza to automatically prevent over-selling. See Managing inventory.
- Variants. Add size, colour, or any other options that change the SKU.
- Weight. Helpful for your own shipping calculations.
- Shipping flag. Mark whether the item ships physically (turn off for digital downloads).
Variants and SKUs
A variant is any version of the product that needs its own stock count: a t-shirt in size M-Black is one variant, M-White is another, L-Black another, and so on. Each combination gets its own SKU and can have its own stock level. If your product has no real variations (for example, a one-size hat in a single colour), skip this section and just set a single item-level stock count.
Variant tips
- Set the option types first (Size, Colour, etc.), then generate the combinations.
- You can give individual variants their own price override if needed.
- You can disable a variant without deleting it (handy for sold-out sizes).
Image guidelines
Image specs
- 1:1 (square) ratio recommended. The store grid is built around squares.
- At least 1200 x 1200 pixels.
- Accepted formats: WebP, JPEG, or PNG.
- Under 5 MB per file. Vwaza automatically compresses uploaded images to around 180 KB for fast loading.
- Show the product on a clean background for the main image. Use lifestyle shots for the additional images.
- Avoid heavy filters or watermarks.
Multiple images sell
Draft vs Published
Every product has two independent toggles:
Item status vs store visibility
- Status (Draft / Active). Draft means the product is not finished and is hidden everywhere. Active means the product record is complete.
- Store visibility (off / on). Even an Active product stays hidden from the public store until you flip Store visibility on. This lets you finalise listings without rushing them live.
A product appears on store.vwaza.com only when both your KYC is approved AND the product is Active AND store visibility is on.
Categories
Vwaza launches with five categories: Apparel, Accessories, Music & Media, Digital Downloads, and Collectibles. Pick the closest match. If you think a new category is needed, let us know via support.
