6

Review and publish

Your content is saved as a Draft by default. You must publish it to make it live.

  • Review all information for accuracy
  • Preview how content appears to fans
  • Set privacy and availability preferences
  • Hit Publish to make your content available - without this step, it stays in Draft and fans cannot see it
  • Choose immediate or scheduled publishing

You Must Publish Your Content

After uploading your song or album, your content is saved in Draft status by default. It will not be visible to fans or available for purchase until you explicitly hit Publish. This is an essential step: go to your release in Vwaza Studio, review the details, and click Publish to make it live. Without publishing, your content remains private and will not appear on the platform.

Best Practices

Audio Quality

  • Use lossless formats when possible (WAV, FLAC)
  • Ensure proper mastering and levels
  • Check for clipping or distortion
  • Maintain consistent volume across tracks

Artwork and Visuals

  • Use high-resolution images (minimum 1400x1400px)
  • Keep text readable at thumbnail sizes
  • Maintain consistent branding across releases
  • Avoid copyrighted images or logos

Metadata

  • Use descriptive, searchable titles
  • Include relevant genre and mood tags
  • Write engaging descriptions
  • Credit all collaborators properly

SEO and Discovery

  • Research popular keywords in your genre
  • Use location tags for local discovery
  • Include language and cultural context
  • Link related tracks and albums

Territory Availability

Control where in the world your music can be accessed. Make content available worldwide, restrict it to specific countries, or block it from certain regions.

Territory Modes

Worldwide: Available in all countries (default)
Selected Countries Only: Only available in countries you choose
Exclude Countries: Available everywhere except blocked countries

How Territory Restrictions Work

The platform uses IP-based geolocation to determine a user's country. Users in restricted territories see a "Content not available in your region" message. Common use cases include licensing compliance, regional release strategies, and territorial sales agreements.

Collaboration and Artist Roles

Understanding Roles

The difference between collaborators and featured artists affects crediting, revenue sharing, and how your release appears to fans.

Collaborators

People who contributed to creating the music. Usually receive percentage splits of direct sales earnings.

  • Producers: create musical backing and overall sound
  • Songwriters: contribute lyrics, melody, or composition
  • Co-Artists: other musicians who performed on the track
  • Engineers: recording, mixing, or mastering

Featured Artists

Guest performers on specific tracks. Prominently shown in track titles with special marketing focus.

  • Guest Vocalists: artists who sing on your track
  • Instrumentalists: musicians who perform specific parts
  • Rappers/MCs: artists who contribute verses or hooks
  • Celebrity Features: well-known artists adding star power

Leading Singles and Release Strategy

Leading singles are individual tracks from your album released early to build anticipation before the full album drops. You control which tracks are available at any time before full album publication.

Released tracks: Fully playable, available for purchase via direct sales
Pending tracks: Visible in album but not yet playable

Benefits of Leading Singles

  • Build anticipation and buzz for the full album
  • Test market response to different tracks
  • Engage your audience over time rather than one big release
  • Create multiple promotional opportunities
  • Generate early sales revenue while building toward the full release

Release Strategy

Release your strongest, most accessible track first to hook new listeners, then follow up with tracks that showcase different aspects of your artistry.

Common Upload Issues

Upload Failed or Stuck

Check your internet connection and file size limits. Try uploading during off-peak hours. Clear your browser cache if issues persist.

Poor Audio Quality

Ensure source files are high quality. Avoid re-compressing already compressed files. Use professional mastering when possible.

Metadata Not Displaying

Check that all required fields are filled. Avoid special characters that might cause display issues. Save and preview before publishing.

Content Not Appearing

The most common reason is that your content is still in Draft status. You must hit Publish in Vwaza Studio for it to go live. If you have already published, new uploads go through automated processing (HLS transcoding, preview generation, fingerprinting, search indexing) which may take a few minutes. Content should appear in search shortly after processing completes.

Territory Restrictions Not Working

Verify territory settings are saved correctly. Changes take effect immediately, but cached content may take a few minutes to update globally.
