Payment Methods
The Vwaza Merch Store accepts mobile money across Africa and major credit/debit cards globally. Pay in your local currency.
What we accept
Two payment rails
- Mobile money (via PawaPay): Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba, M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, and other local providers across Africa.
- Cards (via PayChangu): Visa and Mastercard, debit or credit, issued anywhere in the world.
Mobile money (PawaPay)
Pick mobile money at checkout, choose your provider, and enter the phone number registered to that mobile money account. You will get a prompt on your phone to authorise the payment. Once you approve it, the order is confirmed instantly.
Tips for mobile money
- Make sure your account has enough balance, including any provider fees.
- The phone number must be the one registered to the mobile money account.
- If the prompt does not arrive, check your network signal and try again.
Cards (PayChangu)
Pick card at checkout and enter your Visa or Mastercard details on the secure PayChangu form. Your card is charged in your selected currency. International cards are accepted, so friends and family abroad can buy from Malawian creators.
Currency and exchange rates
Vwaza prices are stored in USD as the source of truth. At checkout, the price is converted into your selected currency using the day's exchange rate, and you are charged in that currency. The conversion is the same one Vwaza uses across the music product, so prices match what you see in Vwaza Music. See Supported currencies for the full list.
Why USD as source of truth?
Is it safe?
Vwaza never stores your full card number or your mobile money PIN. Both PayChangu and PawaPay are licensed payment providers, and all payment data is handled in their secure environments. Your money is also protected by Vwaza escrow: the seller does not receive it until the order ships and a 14-day dispute window clears. See Buyer protection.
