Fueling the Next Generation: Vwaza Hits African Bible College to Bridge Campus Creativity and Creative Business

College campuses across Africa have always been hotbeds for undiscovered talent. From dorm-room producers and poets to visual artists and digital storytellers, student communities brim with raw artistic energy. Yet, for many emerging creators, turning that creative drive into a sustainable career remains a black box. Without access to business literacy, distribution platforms, and monetization tools, brilliant campus art often stays confined to campus walls.
Fortunately, Vwaza Multimedia is changing that narrative. On September 25th, 2026, Vwaza is heading to African Bible College (ABC) in Lilongwe for a dynamic campus workshop and interactive game night experience. Designed to welcome ABC’s newest intake during Freshers’ Week while engaging the broader student body, the event will bridge the gap between creative expression and career sustainability.
Beyond Music: A Complete Ecosystem for Campus Creatives
While Vwaza initially gained momentum through music distribution, the platform has evolved into an end-to-end multi-product ecosystem encompassing Vwaza Music, Vwaza TV, Vwaza Studio, and Vwaza Podcasts. Introducing students to these platforms during their university years delivers immediate creative and economic advantages:
- Creative Empowerment: Students learn how to package, catalog, and publish their audio, video, and written projects using industry-standard tools without relying on traditional gatekeepers.
- Financial Autonomy: By mastering direct-to-fan monetization—such as an 80% to 85% revenue split, localized mobile money payouts, and digital tipping—young creatives can begin earning from their work while still in school.
- Career Sustainability: In collaboration with The Diamond Standard, Vwaza is equipping students with essential business education, covering metadata setup, copyright attribution, release scheduling, and digital audience growth.
Spotlighting Campus Talent: Psalms & Stages Take the Lead
This campus visit marks an exciting shift in Vwaza’s workshop model by placing live student performances at the heart of the experience. The event will feature performances by Psalms & Stages, ABC’s premier student-led creative arts and drama collective.
Dedicated to reviving campus performance culture through theatre, storytelling, poetry, and music, Psalms & Stages views art as a tool for communication, connection, and transformation. Having recently achieved a major milestone with their invitation to the Mushroom Shade premiere, the group represents the exact caliber of emerging talent Vwaza was built to empower.
Pokani Kaunda, Vwaza’s Artist Relationship Manager, highlighted why bringing Psalms & Stages into the fold is central to this stage of Vwaza’s expansion:
"What makes this workshop important is this ABC's new intake, as it gives the opportunity to introduce the new freshmen and others who already attend ABC to our ecosystem. It is also a slight move from our music angle, since the community is a collective of diverse creatives, so we want them to learn about our different products and their functions in their artistic journeys."
"At this juncture, Vwaza's creative ecosystem is complete. We will now be raising awareness and visibility about these tools and how young creative communities can plug in. We take it upon ourselves, alongside The Diamond Standard, to educate the next generation of Malawian creatives on music and creative business tools that make career sustainability possible."
